WeWriWa - 8/16/15 - Old Amarillo / Katie's Journey / Release Party Info!

Welcome back to this week's ten-sentence snippet from OLD AMARILLO, coming to the world on September 3rd. Click here if you would like to be a part of my blog tour, September 4-11, courtesy of Loving the Book blog tours. I would be honored to be hosted by my WeWriWa friends! Find my launch party on the 3rd of September here!

Without further ado, here we go, back into Michaela Dawson's sleepy camp, on the way to Elizabethtown, Illinois.

His face, fuzzy in its dreamlike state but still handsome as ever, filled her sleep-heavy mind. The blue-eyed dimpled face with the fading scar through the eyebrow, framed by those blonde waves that shone golden in the sunlight whenever he removed his felt hat. Peter. The face she’d hoped to wake to every day for the rest of her life, for as long as God saw fit…her Peter.
If only he had proposed forever. Katie’s heart ached deep in her chest, despite it only being a dream. “Peter,” she whispered, longing pulling at the end of his precious name. “Peter.”

His mouth, upturned at the ends ever so slightly, began to move. “Katie.”

Thank you for popping by. Follow this link to get back to the other contributors for the weekly Weekend Writing Warriors blog hop where authors in all phases of publication post eight to ten sentences of the work of their choice and add their link so that readers may enjoy their work. Comments from others are what make this something we all look forward to each week, so feel free to let those fingers fly and tell how you feel about this and all of our snippets!

  4. Bittersweet and beautiful. I'm not sure if she's dreaming or not myself. I look forward to finding out!
The protagonist in the story I'm involved with writing is in love with a ghost.
