Welcome back to 1890 Gasthof Village, Indiana. Without further ado, let's see what has Katie Knepp's Old Order Amish mother diving off the hand-laid porch after her, only to be caught by her father. This excerpt is from Old Amarillo (Amish Journeys #1), coming September 3 from 5 Prince Publishing.
“Don’t let her leave us! She’s like to get killed Jeremiah,
don’t let my baby go.”
The stone-like
expression of her father’s bearded face and empty, broken eyes haunted her
mind, giving her a shiver down her backbone. Something told her she’d never see
her beloved parents again. Still, she had to go.
A sudden burst
of wind sent the covering strings lashing across her face again. This time,
they stung. “God, please comfort my mother and give her heart peace over my
decision and help her to understand that I consulted You in prayer before even
considering this journey.”
